The Franciscan Relief Fund is asking for contributions and prayers to help urgent hurricane relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Beryl in Negril, Jamaica.
Funds will be used to rebuild homes and schools in Negril, where friars have served for many years. Hurricane Beryl made landfall on the island on July 3, leaving a wake of devastation.
Homes and schools sustained severe damage from the storm. With the school year beginning in September, the call for hurricane relief in Jamaica is urgent if kids are to return to a nurturing, safe environment.
This video shows some of the damage a third-grade classroom suffered. More than the structures, the rebuilding process is about uplifting the community’s spirit and restoring hope for the future.
Friars have built relationships and provided aid in Jamaica for decades. To support local recovery efforts, make a donation to the Franciscan Relief Fund. Your generosity will help a community nurture its future – its children.
